Yes, this I can definitely help you with. First, turn to cover inside out. Then place the inside front seam of the cover against the front of the cushion (cushion cover and cushion will be 'nose to nose'). You will be turning it rightside out as you pull the cushion cover over the cushion. It really works, and I hope I explained this well enough.
Your cushions look bigger because there is tension between the cores and the covers, and the tension gives the cushions a "baggy" look. Try a fabric or upholstery store for something called "slip film." Upholsterers use this stuff. It's a very thin, silky non-woven fabric. You wrap the core in this fabric, then slip it easily into the cushion cover. No binding, no tension, no baggy or "full" looking cushions.
