How do I get dirt and stains out of my carpet. . .?
Question:I want it looking brand spanking new. How to?
Answers:
Vacuum first. Then you'll want to treat any stains. I myself use OxyClean (store brand is just as good). My mother uses laundry detergent, and says that works well too. Once you have the worst of the stains out, you'll need to steam clean the carpet. YOu can have a professional come in, or go out and buy a steam cleaner, or just rent a Rug Doctor. The Rug Doctor is probably your cheapest option, and it works well.
Good Luck!!
try washing it with soda and rub it with a brush always works for me
When I moved into my brand new house, my husband's dad decided he was going to put a metal pipe covered in oil on my new carpet. I was beyond upset with him. Anyway, I didn't see the stain until a few days later when the boxes were moved. I soaked the carpet with water and oxyclean. It soaked for over an hour and then I blotted up the grease. When it was dry, I vacuumed it. It worked for me.
Uh, well lets see here.its called a vacuum and uh,you put something called carpet shampoo in the vacuum and presto! you have what is known as a clean carpet! Would you like me to explain *how* to use the vacuum, or do you think you can use it without a lengthy explanation? Sorry for the sarcasm, but I mean...duh!
