How do I clean old nail polish on ceramic tile? I've tried scrubbing with polish remover to no avail!?

Question:It is dark red polish on older, porous tile. It has been there for quite some time.

Answers:
Try a single edge razor in a holder. May mechanically remove it.

Try a "mr. Clean Magic Eraser". I've found it removes most anything,.
Try some lighter fluid on a cottonball. Let it sit on stain about 30 seconds.
Then rub.
A product called GOOF OFF is the very best!
Put some on a cotton ball and let it sit for 5-7 min.
and scrub with an old toothbrush toward the center
of stain so as not to spread it.
Wash with dawn dish soap and rinse thoroughly.
I believe this would work for you, since I had to use
it for the same reason,
and it worked excellent for me!
You might try Acetone. If the tile is truly porous, and the polish is in the pores, you might never get it out. If you have any extra tile the next option may be to replace this single tile.
