Have a embarrasing cleaning question?
Question:I have microfiber furniture that was given to me. However, the person had a dog, a white dog, and my furniture is black. How do I get the dog of smell off the furniture without spending money for a professional cleaner to come in? Also, I have a cat, and my cat will spray my apartment when I've gone to work, how do I get that smell out? I have sooooooooooo much more to ask, so if anyone feels like giving out "free" cleaning tips let me know!!
Thanks and God Bless!

new at this huh?
invest in an upholstery cleaner. you can get one for about 30 dollars at any store. link is below.
I have one because I have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 grandkids under the age of 2.
I need this and I know you do too.
PS, e-mail me what you need to know, I have seen and done it all. If I can't help you with experience, I help you search.
Febreeze
Febreeze for the smell.
Microfiber cleaner for the stains
febreeze or any deodorizer that has enzymes in it

good luck
At pet stores, they have sprays that you can buy specifically made for animal odors. They neutralize it.
Febreeze is only a temporary fix. You'd have to wet it down with Febreeze, leave it alone until it dries, and you'd have to do it every couple of weeks.
For the cat spray, lemon juice mixed with clorox I think. Call a vet and ask.
yes, Febreeze is the best
as for the cat, get it neutered. better for the cat, better for the owner.
A lint roller or duct tape can get the extra hair off if there is any. A fabric freshner will help with the smell. It basically is just going to mask it though. I use one called Odoban, I have a dog that sprayed in my kid's room. It seems to do the job ok. You could also try dryer sheets. Just maybe place them under the cushions or on the sides.
As far as your cat..when my dog sprayed I used bleach to clean it up where I could other wise I just used a disinfectant of some sort. They make a pet spray (wal-mart) that is supposed to mask the "odor" so they won't spray in that spot anymore. I have never used it though so I can't say if it works or not. Hope this helps, good luck!

You could also use fabreeze
My mom use to sprinkle baby powder on our furniture, let it sit and vaccuum it up. Cat urine is the worst-you will never get that smell out without getting it professionally cleaned.
Odo-Ban is much stronger than Febreeze, and eats through the enzymes in the cat pee and the dog-dander that are stinking up your house. It's safe for fabrics, too.
I suggest getting rid of the cat or at least getting it neutered.
